These resources have been developed through a process of Experience-Based Co-Design (EBCD) to support amputation patients’ psychological preparation for this procedure. Both patients and healthcare staff have had equal input into the checklist and the context document. Resources have been also informed by the findings of an ethnographic study carried out in two NHS vascular wards, and amputation patients’ responses two online questionnaires and interviews.
